International News
Most people do not pay any attention to the international news during the Christmas season or at any other time of year. The bad news, for those seeking a little silver lining, is this temporary loss came in late December and not early January. One thing that does make international news worthy of your attention in these difficult financial times is the fact that there are very reliable financial publications that do provide some in depth coverage of world events. A couple of good examples are the New York Times and Wall Street Journal.
For those who need a break from the domestic news, there are also several channels on various networks dedicated to offering news and current affairs programming for the entire United States, as well as Canada and other areas of Western Europe and Asia. For example, in Germany and elsewhere in Europe there are many channels that focus exclusively on the German economy and the events in that country related to that economy. There are similar programs on the same topics in the United States, but the variety and coverage available are much greater. In Asia, CNN and other outlets periodically offer reports on developments in that region, including the Chinese stock market and political news. As with the news from the United States, the variety of sources is very wide and can be tailored to meet any requirements, whether they be specific or general.
Other topics that receive attention in these types of programs and other venues include religion, art, culture and human rights. These are all important issues that are affected by political issues, economic policies and environmental issues. For those who enjoy reading, there are many leading newspapers that offer internationally themed news and articles that are published internationally as well. Some of them are more widely read than others. Many of them offer free news updates.
